Community Guideline and End-User License Agreement (EULA)

Our intentions with COLLT are to inspire connection, creativity, and collaboration: we want to make the Internet a healthier place to be. To achieve this, we have set out our Community Guidelines as follows, as a standardised code of conduct for what is and is not acceptable on the app. We must respect each other in the COLLT community, and report content we believe goes against our principles as a company. By using our app you are agreeing to our Community Guidelines and Privacy Policy, in addition to our End-User License Agreement (EULA).

1.0 What do our Community Guidelines cover?

1.1 Copyright issues - We support and promote the creation of original content within our app. We do not permit content which directly infringes upon someone else’s intellectual property. However, if the content is adequately transformative, it may be protected under fair use and will be permitted. This can include the criticism, review, parody, or the creation of fan accounts of the work in question.

1.2 Harassment, bullying and hate speech - We have a no-tolerance policy on any kind of harassment, bullying or hate speech. We will not accept discrimination on any of the following bases: race, ethnicity, caste, nationality, immigration status, class, age, weight, sex, gender, sexual orientation, religion, disability and disease. If we find evidence of discrimination based on these terms, we will delete the material, and may delete the offending account. We also prohibit the promotion of hateful and manipulative content, such as the justification of exclusion of a group, blackmail, and non-consensual messaging, and will take appropriate action against said language.

There will be occasions when we permit content to be published on COLLT which defies our Community Guidelines, but this will only be in occasions where we believe the content is of public interest. We will only make this decision if we believe the risk of harm is outweighed by the urgency of the content.

1.3 Sexual Content - We built COLLT to be a platform which maintains an open, healthy attitude towards sex. We accept that sexuality is a part of life, and therefore some depictions of nudity and sexuality are permitted by our guidelines, where appropriate. Depictions of chests, irrespective of gender identity, will be permitted as long as they are not pornographic. This may include depictions of breastfeeding, artistic depictions of nudity, nudity related to childbirth, and medical nudity (such as gender confirmation surgery, breast cancer awareness and mastectomy before-and-after pictures).

However, we have a no-tolerance policy on other forms of sexual content, including but not limited to: content deemed to be pornographic in nature, the depiction of non-consensual sex or rape, the depiction of sexualised violence, the solicitation of sexual services, sex-camming, sexual content involving animals, grooming behaviours, and any form of sexual content involving minors.

1.4 Illegal transactions - We do not allow use of our platform as a space for illegal transactions. This includes the unlicensed sale of alcohol, controlled or illicit substances, weapons such as guns and knives, endangered or protected animals, counterfeit goods, indecent or obscene materials, or the trafficking of humans. We also do not permit content which is created to defraud or bring about financial or personal harm to the user. This includes phishing attacks, multi-level marketing schemes, Ponzi schemes, money laundering schemes, intellectual property fraud, and housing fraud.

1.5 Dangerous activities - As part of our policy on promoting healthier online practices, we do not allow content which promotes or depicts actions considered harmful to the viewer. This includes but is not limited to: content which promotes, glorifies or encourages suicide, content which promotes, glorifies or encourages eating disorders, the dangerous use of vehicles or objects for their unintended purpose, and content depicting the consumption of harmful substances.

1.6 Violence - We celebrate originality and imagination, but not when it pertains to content that is gratuitous in its violence. We do not accept content which portrays graphic violence against people or animals, calls to incite violence, content depicting torture or mutilation, sexualised violence, and content glorifying violent groups or organisations. We take threats of violence very seriously: if we consider the threat legitimate, the offending account will be permanently deleted, and the appropriate authorities will be contacted where necessary.

1.7 Spam and inauthentic content - We intend COLLT to be an honest platform and do not support the use of spam on COLLT. We do not allow the illegitimate purchase of likes and followers, the claiming or collection of usernames, the impersonation of brands, the artificial generation of online traffic (such as fake reviews), and the impersonation of other account holders with the intention to deceive. We also have a no tolerance policy on misinformation of all kinds, including but not limited to: medical misinformation, electoral misinformation, conspiratorial content promoting violence or denial of a violent event, inauthentic depictions of real people, and misinformation which encourages hate and discrimination.

However, COLLT will not be held liable for fraud resulting from external hyperlinks leading outside of the app, as this becomes the user’s responsibility once the app has been exited.

Who decides what the Community Guidelines should cover?

COLLT has been built with the input of a diverse, varied group of collaborators, and we intend for our Guidelines to reflect the varied perspectives of our community. We have written these Guidelines considering the wide range of perspectives we enjoy as a community.

2.0 I’ve seen something on COLLT that breaks the Community Guidelines. What should I do?

If you see something on COLLT that goes against our Community Guidelines, let us know by tapping the three dots on the top right-hand corner of the screen, then tapping Report. This action can be taken with images, profiles, and comments you believe have breached our guidelines. The offending content will be reviewed by our moderators and deleted where a breach has been made. If this does not occur and you believe the content breaks our Guidelines, contact us at mail@joincollt.com and we will investigate further and take action within 24 hours.

3.0 What happens if somebody breaches the Community Guidelines?

Our policy at COLLT is to remove all content which breaches our Community Guidelines. Once a breach in policy is reported, we will investigate the offending content and assess its context. We will then analyse the severity of the breach. Content which goes against our Guidelines will be removed. The account holder will be notified, and may appeal the content removal if they believe their content has not breached the Guidelines. COLLT operates a two strikes policy for breaking our Guidelines: after the first breach, the user will have another chance to stay on the app. If the user breaches the Guidelines a second time, they will be permanently banned. We reserve the right to delete profiles which consistently fail to abide by our rules.
